Analyst

San Antonio, TX, Full Time Exempt
(On-site, U.S. Citizenship Required)

Job Summary:
Lone Star Analysis is looking for an Analyst within our Operational Optimization Solutions team to work as a key player in transforming data into action. The Analyst will report to the Programs Manager for Training Solutions. In this role, the analyst will build and maintain a strategic analytics framework that supports smarter leadership decisions and boosts program performance. From collecting and cleaning data to analyzing trends, the analyst delivers insights that drive mission success. This role lays the foundation for advanced analytics capabilities across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver operational clarity through accurate and timely data analysis
  • Aggregate and clean data from multiple systems and sources related to human performance and development
  • Create dashboards and visualizations to support program management and leadership oversight
  • Contribute to continuous improvement aimed at refining the organization’s analytics infrastructure
  • Develop and refine predictive and prescriptive analytics models and tools
  • Support cross-functional teams with data-driven insights that sharpen execution and boost mission success
  • Assist in the architecture and implementation of scalable data solutions
  • Contribute to the roadmap for mature analytics capabilities
  • Collaborate with performance staff, researchers, and government stakeholders to translate questions into data products
  • Support the development and delivery of recurring reports and strategic updates
  • Serve as a data force multiplier by integrating sources into a cohesive analytics environment
  • Ensure accuracy, clarity, and security of all data outputs

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance; current clearance preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in data mining, and/or 4+ years in a data analyst role, supporting DoD training environments
  • Proficient in tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, R, Python, or SQL
  • Experience developing analytical dashboards using Power BI
  • Experience with data visualization and dashboard creation
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Must be highly collaborative and capable of working in a team-based environment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software

Analytical Business Development Professional

Remote, Full Time Exempt
(U.S. Citizenship Required)

Job Summary:
Lone Star’s Analytical Business Development Professional position category, which includes a number of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) roles as well as Intelligence, Competitive Intelligence, Operations Research, and Management Sciences (OR/MS). The individual will collaborate on complex analytics and data modeling as well as develop new prospects and interact with existing customers to increase sales of Lone Star’s production, supply chain/logistics, maintenance, asset utilization, training, and business case analysis solutions. This position collaborates with customers to identify their needs, develops solutions, and ensures a seamless business development and engagement process. This position is primarily focused on creating “make happen” opportunities, rather than responding to RFPs. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop plans for assessments and discovery within a disciplined process framework
  • Support research to frame models and simulations for Lone Star clients and, for Lone Star
  • Support research to develop inputs for models and simulations for clients and for Lone Star
  • Discovery and analysis across multiple disciplines and domains
  • Working with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), incorporate their knowledge framework in models
  • Working with SMEs to incorporate their quantitative estimates in models
  • Work in a probabilistic context
  • Achieve assigned sales/business development targets based on corporate revenue growth goals
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of “make happen” opportunities and manage opportunities from identification to closure
  • Research, identify, engage, and qualify new customers
  • Collaborate with technical, Account Management, Marketing, and Product Leadership to recommend new solutions
  • Identify areas of improvement and implement positive change
  • Build and maintain Lone Star’s brand, establishing a position in market
  • Comply with disciplined processes and be aware of Conflicts of Interest (COI)

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Collaboration and team-based technology development, audits, and peer reviews
  • Documented success in securing “make happen” analytics solutions business in relevant defense organizations
  • Ability to effectively understand and articulate value propositions for advanced data analytics
  • Ability to travel to client sites
  • Ability to work across a number of industries (Aerospace, Defense, Energy, Telecom, Technology,  Training, Training Systems, and others as required)
  • Familiarity with US military Operations Support
  • Capability to hold a security clearance
